As a Financial Specialist, you will provide a range of bookkeeping functions for Guardianship Options by coordinating with Guardian/Conservator in the management and reporting of the financial affairs of its vulnerable clients.

As a Financial Specialist you will:

  • Maintain financial documentation according to policy and present to all internal and external auditors upon request.
  • Document and bill service hours for each assigned client following LSS GO policy and procedures.
  • Handle all finances associated with the client’s estate, including but not limited to payment of bills, reconciling accounts, handling deposits, etc.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate degree or 2 years of related experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or customer service is required.
  • Required satisfactory completion of National Guardianship Associations Finance Certificate Program after 1-year of service.
  • Knowledge of accounting packages like Great Plains, QuickBooks or TurboCash preferred.
  • Financial management experience with asset and investment management preferred.
  • Coordinating skills required to organize and maintain separate financial records for 30 to 60 individual clients.
  • Computer literacy, spread sheets, word processing and basic budgeting is required.
  • Strong communication skills are required to work as a team and present financial information in a conscientious manner. Also required to be a good listener and ask questions.
  • Strong administrative skills needed to monitor financial data and interrupt financial policies and procedures.
  • Able to work under pressure and handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • A DHS criminal background check is required.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail regarding financial tasks (paying bills, transferring assets, depositing client funds).
  • Good planning and organizational skills; able to determine priorities and manage time appropriately.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills required to analyze problems regarding best interest of clients.
